Hey readers throughout the week i have been reading a book called Paekakariki flood 

My book is about a family in Paekakariki. It started with a little girl named Ama and a cat named lucky who were asleep on the couch at 10:00 at night with Amas mum in the kitchen with poppy there dog then a river of water came through the kitchen and Amas mum came through the door with the dog and said “run there's a flood!” then she woke up and cuddled lucky in Amas favourite blanket then they did but then let go of her blanket and lucky jumped and disappeared into the dark then Ama said mum im drowning but she did not come save her instead the man across the street picked her up and bring her to her granddads house then they were safe and mum found the cat My complementary text is about a book of a kid who had a flood at school but said he did nothing at school and then her older son came home from school and had his pants ripped and he said nothing

Flood is natural incident in which a dry area or a dry piece of land suddenly gets submerged underwater water moves from lower ground level to higher ground level whenever it rains heavily and there is less drainage,a flood occurs

Hey readers! Throughout the week i have been reading and doing my create tasks my book is taniwha trouble! It is about

5 people in Samoa who are late to school and they rush to school but then a tsunami hit them and one girl got stuck in the tsunami and then a big brother pulled her out by her bun and they lived outside far away from there broken house.

My Challenge text is about 

A girl who hangs out with animals and makes a tornado in a bottle and saw a real tornado and said she preferred a tornado in a bottle.

this is my complementary text

Tsunamis are made by sudden movements from the ocean flow turns into earthquakes. landslides on the seafloor. Land slumping into the ocean. Large volcanic eruptions are meteorite crash on the ocean floor.

my 2nd task is about telling you guys what to do if there is a tsunami

If there is a tsunami you should go to the highest spot you can find without using a car and quick!

You should also have a freezer of food in case there is a tsunami or else you might starve of food

You should also have a first aid kit ready to take in case you trip

my 3rd task is to make my own newspaper article here it is enjoy!

Hey readers throughout the week i choose the book taniwha trouble the story it is about

A boy called Noah heard some noise in his classroom pipes it was a taniwha so he went down to the boiler room to get the caretaker of the school Mr. Blackadder then he came to Noah's class and said yep that's a taniwha then Mr. Blackadder went to the boiler room to open the pipe and catches the taniwha the water was black and muddy then Mr. Blackadder

Went down to Waiwhetu river to let down the taniwha

Two taniwhas who lived in a lake near wellington who wanted to go out to the ocean, so then they tried to make a huge wave that flooded the land separating the lake and the ocean and they did it, so they now live in the ocean.Challenge text is about

A taniwha who lived in wellington harbour and when the taniwha was asleep he slipped over and landed freely in the sea

my 2nd task was we had to write a paragraph of our story that we read with a twist here it is

I had looked and looked and I realised it was so obvious and i did not know how it was so easy to see in black water but somehow i did and so did everybody else Mr blackadder picked it up and let it go in the ocean.

my 3rd task was to interview the main character which is Noah here it is

today i have been reading the book cancel the invasion it is about A dude from another planet trying to invade the earth but then a kid hits him on the head with a cricket ball then he felt bad and cancelled the invasion

my complementary and challenge texts were about Forget mars- there could be life on Venus in its lower clouds scientists have found moving blobs thinking they are some sort of lifeform.scientists claim that it looks like a lava lamp

i had to write the last paragraph of my story with a twist this is it

you better cancel the invasion! or i will electrify you. now i was so scared i did not no what to do either cancel the invasion and not get electrified or not cancel the invasion and get electrified

but i decided to do what was right. what was right was i cancel it

i also had to interview the main character of the story which is ash here it is

kids barbecue comp number 2

Hey readers 

On Saturday 24th of April I competed in another NZ Kids BBQ cooking comp. 

This time i had to create a burger and hand it in in a box. We had to start by putting rub on the meat and then rolling the meat into balls. We got smokey t's buns and put them in a deep fryer and melted butter, then we waited until the hand in was open.  When it opened we then we cooked the patties and assembled the burger.  I'll roll you through my burger; first I put the bottom bun and smokey t's sauce, then we put the patties and cheese on top, then we put pickles, onion and capsicum then we put my dads special chipotle mayo, then we put cheese and a top bun.  Look at my photos to see what place I came!

I recommend going to smokey t's BBQ restaurant in town.
